Both Thong Yang Beach and Ban Khai Beach are actually the same beach, but villagers are call it which categorized the beach in two directions, in the east they call the beach as "Thong Yang Beach, and in the west is called " Ban Khai Beach" which is suitable for relaxation. The name "Ban Khai" has happened in 1858, in King Rama IV era, in that time, there was a recruitment of hundred fully-grown man from Nakhon Si Thammarat and Chaiya for gold mining and was encamped in the area wihch is modern day Ban Khai.
